Stuff

Here is an article I did yesterday for Rock Confidential. It's nice when an interviewer actually prints what is said and not just an excerpt or moments that could be construed as scandalous. Thanks to RC for their time.

Spread Entertainment has been nominated for Best Talk Show!

TV Guide's inaugural ONLINE VIDEO AWARDS will debut on MY NETWORK TV on December 5, 2007 and be re-broadcast on the TV GUIDE NETWORK. These awards will honor the best professional content on the Internet.

Voting is up now and you can vote as many times as you like.

Today, Todd and I are going down to E! to talk about Spread Entertainment. I am not sure when and what time we will be on but I will post it and let you know. It's kind of amazing to see such outlets as E! and TV Guide sitting up and taking notice of web generated programming. Tomorrow, I will be back in the studio with Billy for some old school Camp Freddy Radio on Indie 103.1.

Camp Freddy Radio up now!

SPREAD ENTERTAINMENT - Thursdays at 5:00 pm PST

Join us this week for an all new SPREAD ENTERTAINMENT where our guests will be... Um... I'm actually not really sure. I do know that the NYC hardcore Madball will be in. Also, Scott from the Dearly Departed Tours will join us for a morbid and compelling discussion. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. We will cook something special up I am sure... No doubt about that. It's Halloween for crying out loud. I couldn't be happier with the new Mania TV site. Now, Mac users can finally watch without any problem. Plus, if you only want to see a particular performance from a band, you can just select that and not have to wait for an hour to catch it.

I have to say that last week Todd and I went and did Yo on E!. The show ran on Monday and I was very impressed with their editing and willingness to simply discuss Spread and other subjects without getting too into digging for the dirt. I guess not all outlets are evil! Yo on E! is a fun radio show that runs on Sirius Radio with highlights shown on the channel itself.

New Show Launch

Well, I just got over a really fucked up flu... Ughhh! Anyway, now that I am back on track... Here is the latest. We are launching the new Spread show on Thursday, November 8th at 5 pm PST on maniaTV.com at our brand new studio. Yes, it will be live! BTW, last week's "Best Of" show is now up and flowing on the mania site. Also, our new AOL Instant Messenger name is: "spreadchat". No more confusion! This week we have author Neil Strauss and the music of Cage9 on the show.

Monday

spread2_logo_final-thumb.jpgHappy Monday everybody! Just got home from Arizona with DJ Skribble and we had an amazing time. The show was awesome, even though we lost power at one point. Oddly, it is the spontaneous moments like that we crave. It gave us an opportunity to just go with the flow and have fun. Today, we are going down to the Spread studio to do some taping. The beautiful thing about the studio is that if we find a guest who can't do the live show, we can always go in and tape that segment another day. Today, we are shooting an upcoming segment with Edward James Olmos. Todd and I are huge EJO fans to begin with... But Battlestar? Come on now! That's amazing! We are also doing a segment with our in house psychic Belinda Bentley. Our plan for now is to run these on Thanksgiving, but you know that they will be up in rotation either way. Next Thursday on the live show we have Don LaFontaine coming in. He is the movie trailer voice over guy: "In a world where Internet TV and voice over meet..." You know who I mean.

A lot of people have been asking if we still plan on having a live audience. The answer is yes, we are just dialing in everything down there before we make a public invitation. We will be open soon enough! Probably in December which is only a few weeks away.

P.S. The online voting for Spread is ending on November 15th, so I'm told, so anything you guys can do to help support us would be greatly appreciated! Once again, here is the link. Thank you in advance!

If you want to throw out some questions I can always get to them this week.

Thanksgiving

edward_james_olmos-thumb.jpgI'm leaving today to go to Houston and do a gig with DJ Skribble, then I am off to New York City where I will be sitting down with Donny Deutsch on his show, The Big Idea. I will be back by Thanksgiving provided I don't run into a Planes, Trains and Automobiles trip back home. Then again, he did make it back in time didn't he? On Thursday's episode of Spread we have actor Edward James Olmos and psychic Belinda Bentley in the studio. The show was pre-taped for the holiday so the Instant Messenger will obviously not be open. Hopefully we will be able to accommodate a live audience by the time we start back up the following week. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions regarding the new space and the show. Also, thank you for your support with the online voting for the TV Guide Awards. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I will try to check in from the East Coast via entries, or maybe even Spread Radio Live.

Dave Navarro Season 3

We are in the process of filming the first episode of Season 3 and everything is going great.

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine stopped by the show and talked about why he left Metallica and ended up giving Navarro a guitar lesson. It was awesome to watch these rock legends playing together.

The new episode will air on April 10th at 11 PM ET. Don't miss it.

Episode 3 with Shepard Fairey

The amazing interview with artist Shepard Fairey will debut May 8th.  If you don't know the name Shepard Fairey, you definitely know his work. He is behind the Obey sticker campaigns and the Obama posters.

He also made the album covers for Black Eyed Peas, Smashing Pumpkins and has done art for Dave Navarro's album as well.

It's rare to see Shepard Fairey interviewed like this. The episode will be up on Thursday- WATCH IT!
